Thats' the truth! Call it what you will. This is the truck I was talking about, and it ain't the only one. I ran a RCSB GMC not too long ago that was BONE STOCK and didn't pull him until high gear. There is no doubt in my mind that these trucks with a 5.3 will run in the 14's with NO problem...especially the later models.

Well, i have a 97 ex cab 1500 with flows, this baby has 124k on her and runs a blistering 16.3 @83. I'd like to see some of your ls1 based trucks keep up with this demon!!!

For what its worth, i have seen some cars at this track not run as fast as many claim. I see very few stock ls1's trap the ~108 that many claim on the net, not saying it doesnt happen, im just saying i havent seen it that often, however, i have seen some with just a few mods have some incredible times. I remember a ~2001 ex cab 5.3 with long tubes and a vortech running mid 14's @96 which is close to what many here are doing n/a. When i had my cammed 97 z28 i couldnt trap over 103 at the track(mainly due to 60' and KR) but i pulled every single ls1 i raced from a roll which all had atleast exhaust. When Dungbeetle races my brother(the SS he has referred too) from a roll, they are nearly almost dead even on the street, which leads me to believe that there are many factors involved.

My Z/28 ran 12.60 @ 112+ with a lid and Borla catback. It trapped over 108 dead stock. Your results may vary due to track elevation and weather conditions.

I have seen a ls1 run an 11.9 with headers and tq converter and slicks, im sure he had a few other mods but they can be very fast cars. All i was saying is that i havnent 'seen' a completely stock one run those times.

Beeftip has seen a ECSB with a Vortech supercharger and other mods running 14.5 or so. He had the 5.3. It just doesnt make any sense that your truck is running faster than a supercharged truck or the SS. The 5.3 stock is just not that fast
