without a doubt Density altitude has a TON to do with Et's. Hell, in my last car I lost a 1/2 second off my ET moving from Chicago to Phoenix.
Anyway, my 04 5.3 rcsb with big ol' 22's went 15.7s@88 with headers & intake a couple months ago with a DA of about 3500ft. So, Im going to say your tune is part of the problem. Lets just say it was 95 degrees and 70% humidty that day you raced. Even then...you shoulda ran much better unless you were puttin on a smoke show.

F8L touched on this earlier, but I feel I must emphasis this. DA has a HUGE effect on your et/mph!
I know you're in GA and it gets pretty humid and nasty. Well if there's a lot of humidity(water vapor) in the air, then it displaces the oxygen molecules, which you need to make power. Also if your actual elev is high, that's a problem too, because at lower altitudes, the air is more dense. Think of it as a big column of air above you. The higher you are, theres less air there is above you, hence less wieght pushing down, leading to the air being less dense. Does that make sense?
13.45psi in my sig is the typical atmospheric pressure where I live. The standard is 14.7psi, just to give you an idea.
Stock SS's here run mid to low 16's, stock RCSB's run the same, stock LT1 f-bodies run mid 14's, stock LS1 f-bodies run mid to low 14's. This is just the way it is here. It's frustrtating seeing people post times 1sec faster than you, but put it in perspective. They probably have bad *** weather and track prep. Just compare yourself to others at your track.

You are QUICKER than he is in the 1/4mile due to 60' most likely but your trap speed is the same so say in a freeway race it would go down to whoever nailed it first. BTW, your sig says you have a regular cab short bed.

DUNGBEETLE,
If you have the EXACT time of your run and the name of your track and the city and state I can try to find out your DA for that run which will help put things into persective rather than speculation.
