One of the retired guys at the mill I work at jus bought a dodge magnum wih the hemi. He's brought it by a few times to show it off. While i'll admit its a nice car, i'm sick of him refering to the hemi as one of the 8 wonders of the world. Hes bragging about how it will kill a vette and hemi this, hemi that. Just wish i hada truck that could pop his ego.

 

just add some nitrous and don't let him in your secret then bust his *****!

 

If he is saying he can kill, much less beat a Vette, he is crazy. A buddy of mine bought a Magnum R/T with the Hemi, and they run good, but not that good. They run around 14.4's to 14.7's at the track stock.

Us "Hemi" guys finally have something to be happy about from the Mopar camp, so cut us some slack! Ford and GM have had something for years!

 

I'm tried of the "Hemi" hype and I drive a Hemi powered Ram truck. I didn't get the Hemi because it's a "HEMI", I got it because I had two engine choices, a 4.7L or a 5.7L, I got the 5.7L because I always opt for the bigger engine. Guys refer to their Ram trucks as "My Hemi", not my Ram or my truck. I'm not sure about a Magnum R/T running in the 13's although I haven't seen any magazine numbers to say they don't. I did see a new Magnum R/T at the track and the best it ran was a 14.69. New Vettes run in the very low 13's and mid to high 12's so there is no way his Magnum R/T will take a Vette. Another Hemi owner needing a reality check.

I don't think they run in the 13s. Mid 14s is what I've heard.

I'm really tired of the add campaign... the women with their DVD players and soft rides and the idiot wind up man with a one word vocabulary "Hemi Hemi Hemi can you say Hemi? Hemi Hemi..."

Although they look like really nice cars and I've been a fan of Hemis my whole life I've heard several places on the web the magnums are 14 second cars... I can't wait to lay the smack down on a new magnum maybe teach them a new word or two

 

All I can hear is that little boys voice dubbed in that commercial... "Hemi!"

I saw a black Magnum today - it looked sweet.

There is little to no Hemi hype in my area... I see a TON of Hemi trucks on the road, and none of them give me a second look. I got a friend with one, and all he said was that, "it's got the new 5.7 in it".

 

If they would put a 426 in it I would be buying me a dodge.

 

If the Hemi that is out now consisted of the hemisypherical heads and such, it would be a different thing. Thats like us Vortec guys going around screaming Vortec 24-7......
