Default Update

Got sick of waiting on the 408 parts and cancelled the order. Today the projeced ship date is 9/19. They keep moving it to 2 weeks out every other day. I placed the order on 8/10. I ordered some .030 pistons so I will be going 370ci and some L92 heads that I have laying here in the shop

If you really look at some turbo maps a 370ci LSx is a PERFECT match for a PT88, puts it dead in it's efficiency island.

That is tempting and all but I doubt I will ever be seeing a PT88 on my truck. It is, or will be, my true DD work commuter vehicle. The lag is bad enough as it is already with the PT76 and the manual trans. If I had an auto with a 3000+ stall then the lag wouldn't be nearly as bad. But what fun would that be? I couldn't use this smiley anymore!

Well the 76 will be the better choice then for sure. Have you tried the less timing and more fuel in the lower rpm range to help spool. I think that's the way it goes anyway, allows more heat to make it to the turbo.

An automatic with big stall isn't all that bad.

I never had the chance to fine tune it that close. the entire time I had it running my wideband was sent off for repairs.

Glad to see someone is going to try the L92 heads. Are you going to have any work dome to them to help out the exhaust side? Which intake manifold, the Escalade intake, or the new GMPP single plane???

I'm going to port the exhaust just a little. There is a lot of room to grow. They are small to keep low end tq up on the trucks if I had to guess. I am going to try to run the new single plane when it comes out. A ls1 intake will bolt up and seal but the ports are way off. I can stick it on there to run to start with if I get tired of waiting on the single plane.

I don't know about that. I'm not trying to build a popularity race with someone like Parish (not saying he is of course) i'm just building a fun daily driver truck that won't have much trouble with most things at a red light and knock down good mileage on the highway.

This is basically a new trouble free daily driver project with a few mods gone bad
