Just make it a nice 370 with good pistons and rod bolts. Con rods too if you can swing it. Take a look at that bitchin green TA owned by Na$ty T/A over in the FI section of tech. He's got a 370 in there.

I already have LQ9 rods and ARP bolts. They should be sufficient. The 370 is an option. I don't really have the money right now to do the 408 but i'd hate to regret it later. I was already starting to regret it some. With the low compression I was running (8.9) I was lacking low end torque that i'd like to have and the 408 would fix that even though it will be 8.6:1. It will cost about $1000 more to do the 408 (crank and rods) since there is no off the shelf pistons for the 6.098 rod. The extra cost for custom pistons will run about the same as buying rods.
On the other hand if I go with the 408 then I would soon go to a 88mm for sure. Where does it stop?

The deeper you get, the deeper you want to go! I think the only way it stops is if you sell your computer, and quit logging into this site. There will be rehabs opening for this **** in the years to come, "Mark" my words.

I've had this disease long before I ever used the internet for research. It is just this damn site that made me go so far with a heavy *** truck! What kind of idiot does it take to try to make a truck go fast? Damn we are all idiots.

Parish seemed to do fine with the 76 on a 408 for a while.
