Default Road trip with lifted Tahoe: pre-trip inspection??

My wife and I are traveling to Colorado Springs (15-16 hrs) for Thanksgiving and we decided to take the tahoe for safety reasons in case it snows/storms (4wd,35",etc.). I was wondering what to check and/or change before the trip(fluids, etc.)? It's a 2004 with 75k miles, 4WD, etc. I was most likely going to change the trans fluid anyways but I would like to hear opinions/comments from y'all. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks
Clayton

I'm curious as to why you said don't change the trans fluid. What problems does it cause?

Also, what about trans case fluid, differential fluid, etc.???
Change or leave it alone?

I appreciate all the suggestions!

Just check all your fluid levels and if they look good and the fluid looks good, roll with it.

Seems when people flush a transmissino that has previously been great it blows up shortly after. Purely speculation but the general consensus is that flushing the trans knocks loose debris in the trans clogs up the valvebody.

Wouldnt be worried about the diffs but wouldnt be a bad idea to check em, the tcase would be good to check to make sure there arent aluminum shavings in the fluid. A lot of people have had the pump rub problem which requires taking the case all the way apart ot fix.

X2, i would not change your tranny oil, just top it off if need be... do a fresh engine oil change and roll with it.
