Default RCSB gas mileage...

What do you guys with RCSB 4.8's or 5.3's get for gas mileage?

2wd or 4wd?

I'm a little horrified after calculating out what I pay for gas each month. ~$325. I just got 14.5mpg this tank.

The wheels upstairs are turning.

How often do you drive, and are you easy on the throttle, or do you floor it a lot? A tank of gas will last me from 1 1/2-2 weeks.

Wow.

I fill up about $40 every three-four days (or every 275-300miles). That's all I get out of a tank.

I've been "kinda" heavy on the pedal, but... man. I only got 15.1mpg on a long highway trip this weekend, and that was with the cruise at an easy 70mph.

I knew I was spending some dough, but I honestly never actually did the math out.

I've gotten a hwy best of 20.15 and usually get about 18.5 combined. A guy here at work has a 03 SS (bone stock) that only gets 13 mpg. I don't think he hammers it too much. He use to be a big time gen 1 motorhead...396 Chevelles mostly.

18 mpg mixed with lots of wot blasts and a day at the track w/dyno tune

judgeing by the dash about 21-22 hwy

compared that to
12 mpg before

with the cost of gas, the dyno tune will pay itself off soon

Good mileage...mine dropped to 15.6 mpg when I made the five runs at the strip.

In the small truck I am on my first real measured tank of gas.

I filled it up the other day and have been doing mixed driving. Lots of freeway but lots of WOT runs and quick starts. I am at 334miles and about 1/4tank. The gas light will probably come on within the next 20miles.

I'll fill it up tomorrow and report back.

This is a bone stock 4.8L RCSB with 3.73s 29" tall tires and 96k miles.
