Ran a Ram Hemi Today!
My truck got its first chance to run one today. My cousin bought a red '03 RCSB Ram with a hemi Friday in Beaumont with 30k on it. He and his brother came over to show me. It is a nice truck. Well we went for a little spin in it, he let me drive and it seemed Ok in power but not nearly the mind boggling power that the commercials show. We got back to the house and my cousins brother has never driven mine so the both of us got in to let him try it out. The other one followed us in the Ram, I could tell that he was pretty hemi-hyped. They kind of toyed with each other, and i told him to go ahead and run him. We lined them up and took off at the third honk, They ran pretty even but my cousin, the one driving mine took it a little easy on take off, and we had to make up some ground, we put about a fender on the dodge, and started to pull away slowly, but had to cut short the race due to traffic. Not to bad in my opinion, with an extra person, 3yrs older, and 42k more miles. All the dodge has done to it is exhaust, factory no slip and 3.92 rear. Yes, I have more mods, but I don't claim 345 horsepower. I can't wait till I get my 3.90 gears. it will be even more fun.

I would have thought you'd have creamed him with your mods.
I was trapping 96mph with a cam and headers in a 4x4 Ext.Cab. You should be at least pulling that MPH and a Hemi is only good for about 89mph or so right?

Not sure. I have always had serious traction probs on take off, not even a chirp yesterday, but then again my cousin was driving and he may have been lightfooted on take off.
How do you do the Tmr mod?

I personally think the "little trees air freshener" was the deciding factor, tee hee.
Must have been a confused look when you started moving out on him.
The TMR ( torque management removal ) entails disconnecting a wire from the ECU that eases the shift from 1-2. You yank that wire and gain a good 0.3 seconds on your 1/4 times. It's yellow with a green stripe on it. One word of caution tho, it can cause the stealership to void the drivetrain warranty and there is a log when it is removed. Even clearing the memory with a batter disconnect does not wipe it out.
Have him check dtw.truckmoxie.com and search the "Hemi" thread for more info.
Overall, nice kill and good mods to your ride!
