My Girlfriends brother just got an 94 ext. cab chevy with a 350. He has been wanting to race me, but we just haven't had the chance. Well last weekend me and my girlfriend and him and his wife were going out to eat. I took my truck, he took his truck. The only mod that he has that I know of is flowmasters. We raced twice. The first time, we went from 55 to 90. I put about 4 trucks on him. Then, we came to a red light. He was revving and doing a little bit of a burnout. I just put new tires on my truck, so I just waited for the light. It turned green, I pulled on him pretty fast. We went to about 55-60 (right after my 1-2 shift)and I had put about 3-4 trucks on him. I thought it ran pretty nice for being stock. I'm wondering how I would do against a 96-98 vortec 350. Are they a whole lot faster than the previous 350s? Oh well, another kill!

Yeah, you're right. What did I expect from a piece of crap 350. That is what the 5.3 replaced isn't it?

A vortec 350 would put up more of a fight but the results would be the same.The TBI 350's are weak.

for the sake of rcfast... yes, the 96-98 vortecs r quicker

 

the 87-95 tbi 350s only got 210hp and the 96-98 350s got 255hp off a line is where the old tbi got the power till 45oorpm then they shut down the vortce 350s are good till 5500rpm
