the big problem w/ high horsepower application to the 800's is the current diff.and the tranny. won't hold the power for the durability cycles required to be offered from the factory. and the truck is long in the tooth, no sense in spending millions in development and validation for something thats going out of prod. in a couple years.

Although 800hp from the factory would be nice, it would be pointless to offer that much power in a truck, especially stock.

If GM wants to make one, they need to offer a package of about 400hp, RCSB, 4L65E trans w/ a good stall, strong axle w/ 3.73 gears with about ~295/45 rears and pricing starting about 27k. Have some options like dual climate controls, leather, heated accessories and all that but make it OPTIONS, not standard. Compare ~27k to what the Lightning costs, and im sure there will be people comming back to GM for a performance truck.

They have the Joe Gibbs Performance truck but it is very pricey. I actually was going to get it but its pointless because you lose so much money when you drive off the lot with that package. It stickers out at about 39k i was going to get it for about32-33k drive out. But got my truck instead!!

I would buy a chapman truck if I ws going to buy something like that. I priced one out it it came to 28 fully loaded, radix, 20's, corsa, traction bars, gauges etc. that was with a employee discount but I got mine for 20k and can't complain.

Any of you who think GM will ever offer any Hi-po truck for 27k is out of your mind. GM is about profit, not fulfilling our fantasies...

there are some dealerships that give that option with a rcsb truck and they give a warranty with it. As far as a single cab ss, i dont know but i heard from the dealer that there workin on a rcsb 6.0 truck.
