Default Priming Engine After Oil Changes?

Do any of you guys prime the engine after an oil change? I would the best way to do that on the newer trucks would be to pull both injector bank fuses, but will this throw any trouble codes? Thanks guys.

Not really necessary, as the pump isn't dry. Can't hurt though, and it won't throw any codes. In case it does, they will clear the next time you start it.

I always fill the filter with new oil. The oil pressure comes up pretty much instantly like any other time when you start it.

We always fill the filter on all the farm equipment too. Doesnt take any longer to get pressure than a cold start.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I fill the filter nearly full with oil as well, I would like to purge out the small amount of air that is left in there after draining the filter port. It may be a negligible amount of air in there, but it doesn't hurt to remove it before starting the engine.

If you really want to prime, go ahead. Just pull injA and injB fuses. It's definitely no going to hurt.

I've never done it for just an oil change, though.
