assume 29" rolling diameter and 6000 engine RPM.
91.1" rolling circumference (7.59')
80 mph = 7040 feet per minute
80 mph = 7040 fpm/7.59' = 927.5 wheel rpm
6000 engine RPM / 927.5 wheel RPM = 6.469:1
1st gear ratio = 3.06:1
6.469 / 3.06 = 2.11:1 diff ratio
or use 3.42 gears and spin it up to 9700 RPM
I think.....

all i know is my friend went and bought a 99 silverado in 02 and i was like take me for a ride. and no f'ing lie it went from 0-60 in 3-3.5 seconds in first gear and the rpms were only around 5000 and he put it to the floor and at 6,000 rpm we were doing 80 he manually shifted it to 2nd and let off. No extra gauges, coulndt see anything out of the ordinary from underneath, wouldnt let me look under hood. And it sounded like a possible built 5.3. the exhaust was quiet. didnt sound like a supercharger??? I dont know. Can anyone help me out. If he was still around here i would ask him. Yes the tires on it were factory 235/70/16. This is what he told me he had. 5.3 c.a.i custom tune shift kit true duals tb spacer. didnt tell me anything else. i just want to build one like it. he shifted it to 6000 rpm and it didnt sound like it was over revving or anything like the factory. im lost man. Oh yea and when he took off it didnt jump to 3000 rpm or anything it went to 1500 and had hella power.............. so torque converter? cam? gears?
