Apples to ornges in my opinion. What does that lightning weigh? I agree it is BADASS but to compare it to a street truck? That's funny. First at any sactioned track Parrish is not equipped to run legal. Pull that lightning up to a stop light with no heat in the tires. He would be embarrased (IMO) Again nice truck but it is a RACECAR.

anyone here reading up on hotrods drag week? i am sure some low 9sec or faster turbo car will win

Actually my firends buddy ran 3 9.17 last year after he was DQ from his MSD ingition box failing him on the cruise. From what I was told there is a guy from Chicago claiming a 7 sec daily driver and a guy with a turbo Viper talking major trash saying hes going to blow away the competition with his 7 sec car. Now the guy with the viper still says hes on the stock trans? What matters is 2 things 1. your a very talented drver capable of running very close time (within .1-.2) and 2. creating a motor that runs off their 93 octane. I would think that a Nitrous car would have a little more advantage than a turbo or supercharged car becasue to deal with detonation with higher boost levels. Its stil hard to compete with large cubes 500 + cubic inches and a 500 shot of nitrous.

Its not a fair comparison because Parish has a quick street truck and JLP has a quick race truck.

But then again it was the Parish camp that did the poking.

your talking about pump gas drags, they just started talking about something new called drag week. 5 tracks in 5 days. you have to carry anything you need. no support vehicle at all. that is the only rule. the tracks are as far as 300miles apart. i could run all the race fuel i wanted. hell i could carry a few barrels of the stuff if i wanted.

it's a pretty cool truck, but it's a drag truck. if you beat a street truck on stock tires with your drag truck do you feel good about that?

no but i beat drag cars on my stock tries all the time.

really, we did call out the wrong guy, he is going to be out of my leage be a long ways. if i was a year sooner we would have had a good time talking **** back and fourth, from everything i hear JLP is super nice guy and i have nothing against him building a drag truck. i might just do the same some day.

[QUOTE=parish8] from everything i hear JLP is super nice guy QUOTE]

I'll second that. I used to buy parts from him after some of the "others" customer service went to pot. JLP was always at the top of the list for nice guys, great customer service, and great parts!

I found a link my brother sent me from MM&FF. Johnny got first place in this test with a 10.683 @ 126.5mph, then backed it up 2 days later with a 10.44 @ 129mph.

why not you? you have the rcsb 2wd, have nick drop some dish slugs in that motor and slap a turbo on there.
