I would borrow a sniffer tool from a friend or rent one and stick it up where the cabin filters go. When I did that, it went crazy. You might have to add some refrigerant if it's totally empty. Or just charge it and stick your ear near it and listen for it.

At least I don't have to worry about my dash breaking into pieces when I take it out to replace this evap core lol! If I drove an 07 or newer I would be very worried haha the dashes in those things are complete

done that.



I tried leaving the steering wheel on and pivoting back like some said. I ended up pulling the wheel and it was so much easier to get to.

I have done many of these for Mercedes-Benz, I can tell you as I have had most of my GMT800 dash out for other stuff but never a Evap & Core, our trucks are some of the easiest vehicles to take apart.
