Default OK I`ll bite LSx for a Torquer instead of a BBC.

Going back to this recent thread; Educating me on the merits of the LSx engines.

You folks made some great arguments on the LSx vs. BBC.

Understanding the advantage of the more modern technology of the LSx series.

How would you make a low rpm torque monster for towing ? NA only no FI.

Say 2000 rpm cruise with 7000 in tow ?

Torque monster...take a 6.0 block and stroke it, from what I've seen the 408's have gobs of torque

I don't get all this BB talk, if you want an "easy" big cube swap, go LSX with ~440 cubes and still leave room for a rebuild. Lots of cubes and still have room to rebore later. I think upwards of 480+ cubes is possible on the standard deck height for N/A. IMO

Or go with the tall deck.
4.25 bore and 4.50 stroke and you've got your 572!
You could still use your stock ignition and computer system. Not sure what they are doing with the intake on a tall deck. The LS7 with custom spacer plates or a sheet metal i'd imagine. Remember, there is no water going through the intake and the valley has it's own cover as well.

im not saying in all cases but most, esp for street apps, even smaller cubic inch, can atain what a carb BBC can make, do it more efficiently.. As you have seen the lsx is a bad *** motor, hard to beat..

Hmmm, that WOULD be a BA setup. Hopefully GMPP puts a part number on this block soon. Anyone want to guess when they will be avaliable ?

I can make up LS7 spacer plates.
Using the stock ignition/ECU would be a plus.

Did see the LSX454 also. Wonder if there would be room for a longer arm and a bit of bore ?
