My family is thinking of moving outside of florida. We originally are from cali, but its becoming so overpopulated there that we dont really want to go back. We want to find some land on a nice lake that we can water ski on. I know alot of you are from Texas, and we have been looking at Lake Travis near austin. What other lakes can you suggest for alot of skiing, some fishing, and the lake needs to have no sound, or horsepower levels for boats.
Also, who makes the best boat for wakeboarding, and which model do you like? 20-28ft

head up to the Stuart/Jensen area, all kinds of waterfront property available and more than enough to do as far as water activities are concerned
and it's only 70ish miles north of your current home

Id love to go North, and am very familiar with that area. The problem with any part of the east coast of florida is price. For example...in my neighborhood now, Lighthouse Point, homes on the water are a minimum of 6-700k. And thats for a home that was built in the 60s. Buy a new house on water you are looking at 2 mil plus. Then to get a nice ocean worthy boat, you are looking at 100k+
We want to move to an area where land is more abundant and affordable. We also would like to be able to water ski more, and do get back into quad racing, and florida is just not the place for that.
Dont get me wrong, i love it here, but there is an estimated 1000000 more people moving to my county(broward) in the next 5 years. Its so overpopulated already, i cant even imagine.

IMO Ski Nautiques are the best boat out there. The Air Nautiques are really nice . We have an 88 Ski Nautique 20001 with a 351 Ford which throws one hell of a wake. We just sent it down to orlando last year to be totally redone. It's a really reliable boat. It has 1050hours on it and the motor still runs good but I just blew the trans on it. I had 10 people in the boat plus about 250lbs of weight which is much over capacity and I was pulling a friend up when it went out. Still havent gotten it fixed but it throws a very good wake. You can pick one up for 5-10grand. I would highly recommend sticking with Nautiques they are the best quality boat IMO.

don't know on land. but i agree nautiques are great boats! BUT IMO malibu's are the best and most versitile boats on the water, and quality is unmatched. that will be my next purchase after the new truck.

Possum Kingdom Lake. Its near Graham, TX. I used to see off shore racing boats there all the time.
