Exclamation New brakes 911!!!

Hey all i need some help here I'm stumped... Just swapped my old OEM brake pads for HAWK Performance ceramic pads. Install went nice and smooth no issues but after test drive my rear brakes feel like my e-brake is applied (it isn't). its to the point where i can feel it slowing me down specially if i let off the gas, after a ride around the block i pulled into the driveway and noticed my rear brakes smoking! I already tried re-adjusting the e-brake. Any ideas????????

These are the pads:

How hard did it go together? Did the wheel spin freely after it was installed and before the drive?

I just had the same problem check the slides that allow the caliper to slide away from the rotor if it can't move away the pad will always stay engaged or like someone said earlier check the caliper it could be frozen. Like I said I just did my brakes and it seem to always be braking and when I rechecked it was the slides were seized and the new pads had no where to go. With the old pads I didn't notice the slides because the pad was already worn were it made contact. I hope that helps. Btw I'd it is the slides autozone has replacement caliper brackets for 17.99 and then 6.00 for new slides

Did you use caliper grease on the caliper bolts?

Never use anti seeze on brake bolts, it will gauld up.

How did the new brake pads compare to the old ones?

Maybe you have a set that is incorrect maybe thickness wise? It could happen i guess.

Also did you cycle you E brake on and off a couple times to make sure its not sticking?

i didn't add anything to the caliper bolts, they already had some factory grease on them when i pulled them out. how the pads compared would be a had one because my other pads were worn down a bit, however the pads in the rear are the same thickness as the fronts which seem fine, and yes i cycled the e brake

it didn't go on all that hard i didn't have to force anything back on. and i believe it did spin free before i got the wheels back on the ground for the test drive

Pop the slides out of the little rubber boots and inspect them. They are probably bone dry and rusting. I know mine were. I had to clean them up and add some synthetic brake grease.
