Default 16.2 mpg!

Never really knew or could just really guess what my mpg was and always assumed it would be around 12 average. I decided to bite the bullet and drive my truck like an old lady for 4 days to and from work and I will tell u was the toughest longest 4 days. My commute to work is 25 miles of which 15 are stop and go. I went 203 miles and she accepted 12.48 gallons of fuel. Most of my driving is stop and go and I think on highway I could get 22.

I do the same thing. My truck gets pretty good mileage too (for a truck). All though I noticed that it burns gas like a hog at 60-65mph but at 70+ it gets better. Weird

shoot... the only time i ever saw 20+ was one time when i babied the 4.3 with a tail wind

well... i did get about 20 once with the 5.3, but that was running lean with a small vacuum leak

Was thinking about getting a newer truck with a v-6 but it seems like they don't do a whole lot better averaging around 19 mpg

V6 + full size truck= much worse than a V8. little engine working too hard

my 99 ECSB 5.3, with a stall and cam gets way better MPG than my 07 SCSB 4.6 5speed did.
