Good cool overcast day(rain threatning). About half dozen F-bodys from East Tennessee f- body's ( car club ) gave the mustangs a hard day. None of the usual fast trucks where in attendance. I beat a stock '01 Z-28 with a hole shot win. My 14.4 held off his 13.9 bearly.06 margin.He really wanted a rematch The next time I went to the line he jumped up there,must have been waiting. When the line worked down he was one car up.He refused to stage against the SS camaro by him and waited for me. After the lines man shook his knees and called him chicken he gave the SS a buy run .
Same out come holeshot and a 14.25 beat his 14.0
Met a new truck racer and invited him to this forum.He has a '99 ecsb with headers and a Procharger w/ intercooler running 13.9,just needs tuning.
We raced last and he won quick. -.101 red light start,me.I guess that supercharger scared me a little. My red light start was enough to let me cross the line first,so we'll have several races this season.
They are starting a street tire and muffler class this year, 1/4 mile $25. for a shot at $150. every saturday night so I may try some of that this year. I've been accused of being a bracket racer might as well give it a try.
Man was I missing the smell of burning rubber.

 

Sounds like a good time. Memphis isn't too far a haul for me so long as I don't break May make it down sometime. Plan on making a few passes this spring and fall now that I have some of the modding done. Been years since I've seen a track.

Yeah, I had to work until a little after lunch. I'm not feeling those track hours!!!! I usually work until lunch every Saturday, and it takes me about 2 hrs to get to Memphis, so I would barely make one pass before it shuts down.

 

I got a schedule of events, I'll let you know any interesting dates. First mid-night madness isn't Till april 29.
Super Chevy weekend is April 15-17. I am running in it this year, been to chicken the last two years. Cost about the same $ as a three day ticket and, I can park in the pits. Even if I go out in the first round,and half do every time, I'm in.

 

My truck should be done in about 2 weeks. I think that I am going to have to to take a road trip down south to do some racing. This is killing me. The last time I made a pass was like July 23rd or something like that. The track out here isnt opening for another 40days I neeeeedddddddd to race
