i think you need somewhere in the 450hp range.

nice cam stall and 150hp shot of nitrous would work.

or just slap a nice turbo on it

A cam and converter package that's perfect for each other and on the aggressive side may get you there.

To answer your question specifically, no I would not run that cam with that converter. It will be a total dog off the line and after shifts. With that cam you'd want at least a 9.5" 3600 converter.

Boost will be your easiest and quickest answer to serious Performance. You can do it NA, but it will likely require a different exhaust, a different converter, a stronger trans (you'll need that no matter the path), and a cam as you mentioned. Even still an STI is a stout little car.

thanks for the input the 4l60e i have is good till 700hp from perfomabuilt so not worried about that. i dont want a bigger stall since this is my daily diver and wanna keep it streetable. i dont want nitrous on my daily. thats for my v8 swaped 240sx.

so now i can go about this 2 ways.
1. keep my swb 2005 silverado cam swap, injectors, fuel pump, then save for supercharger

2. sale the truck and get one of my dream cars since i was a kid. gmc typhoon and do some work to it. i would need to build the running gear ASAP so i can tow my 240 then later do go fast goodies.

what are your guys opinions to this

Depending on the year of the STI, you are going to have your hands full. If they are willing to launch it hard, that is anywhere from a 13-14 second car. There have been people with NA setups that have had times faster than that, but they are starting to give up driveability/towability for it. Forced induction would give you both.

probably with that stall max cam i would go is the 212/218 cam on 112lsa safely or if your wanting to push it this voodoo 217/223 or 113lsa. Voodoo Hydraulic Roller Cam - GM LS GEN III/IV 267/273 - Lunati Power

you could upgrade the fuel pump to a walbro 400 in preparation but i wouldn't do injectors till your going boosted.

as for selling and going typhoon i really don't like that idea. they will take just as much if not more work to do what you want.

My opinion is that option 1 is a recipe for a truck that is absurdly fast. Here's my advice: change the order. You will be somewhat disappointed with a cam that works well NA and such a small stall. Get the blower first. Find a used 1900 as they are phenomenal for a DD. Then you will have the right stall and have everything built in order to spec the perfect cam.

Those 3.42's aren't gonna help you any.

You can do it NA but you're going to have to have the right parts and tune.
