Lower oil pressure and changed pressure characteristics after dealer resealed oilpan
#1
Hello, I had the a Chevy dealer I had worked at a few years ago re seal the oil pan on my 07 classic Silverado with 266k miles. Before I took it in it always idled at 39-40 psi cold and when driving before warmed up it would run up to the 60psi+ cold then once both oil temp and coolant temp got to operating temps it would idle at 38-39psi hot and go to about 45-55 driving. I'm not sure if they changed the o ring on the pick up tube or something but now when cold on a 40 degree morning no matter what rpm it won't go over 40 while driving but still idles at about 39 cold and once coolant temp and oil temp goes up it goes back to normal pressures to me 45-55 driving which is super odd. I'm running the same oil and oil filter I've been running the past 100k miles I've had the truck, Pennzoil plat. 5w30 and a wix gold filter which they obviously put fresh oil and filter on with the pan re seal. Is there a possibility that a price of silicone or something is blocking the pick up tube and causing different pressures than what I'm used to or am I worrying too much?
