Default Looking for a better gas mileage truck...

...I have a 00 ECSB 2500 with the 6.0L and just moved about 30 miles away from work. Well with the current gas prices it makes it hard to drive this beast to work every day. So I'm looking for either a 1500 with a auto/manual 4.8/5.3 or 6cyl. So anyone with these combo's post up your mpg and if your regular cab or extended if you don't mind. Thanks!

If you havent already, get a good thorough tune. That usually helps quite a bit.

That's cool however around town I average 9-10.5 and last time I checked on the interstate I averaged 13-14, which driving 60 miles a day that tends to eat up a lot of gas, don't think a tune will help significantly lol.

really? I kind of figured that actually, I was thinking I would get a regular cab 1500 with a 5.3 or a Ford F150 with a 6cyl and a manual.

Do you guys know if the manual gets significantly better gas mileage than the a4 in these trucks?

I got a 92 V6 gets 20+mpg in the city, and about 24 on the highway. Runs strong, 4k. I will even through in the tool box

Ok dude. You asked and I replied. That truck is so detuned and runs so fat from the factory. Youd be surprised.
