Wasn't saying it wouldn't help, just not significantly to be driving 60 miles a day. I know these engines inside out and have tuned them plenty of times, I know they run rich from the factory.

I have a 2000 extended cab 2wd Silverado with the 5.3 for sale. I average 16-17 around town and 19-20 on the interstate. My best was 22 driving 65-70 on a state highway. It has 64.5K miles on it. I am asking 13,200 for the truck.

If your such an expert..... Why cant you figure out what motor gets better gas mileage on your own?

Im an expert too. The horsepower required to overcome the wind increases in a cube function relative to the speed. If you double that speed, you need 2 x 2 x 2 horsepower to push the vehicle = 8 times the horsepower. Eight times the horsepower requires 8 times the fuel. Moral, just slow down.

I have a rclb and i get like 17.5 in the city. You just actually have to be nice to the throttle. I also have 342 gears so im not as peppy but i get better milage. A throttle body spacer gave me 1mpg more and my efans arrived today and that will take some drag off the crank, thus better milage. Good luck man.

I'm not asking which gets the best, I'm just asking what the different trucks get, EC vs RC, 5.3 vs 4.8 vs 6cyl etc. in order to better make a decision as for which to buy.

As for the Honda, I already own a turbo volvo that gets over 30mpg, thus I'm more interested in buying a replacement truck that gets a little better gas mileage since I need one. I don't expect 30mpg but 20 would be nice thus the reasoning for asking what other people's combo's were getting.

Get a v6 and put a 2x2 block under the gas pedal (well this is what my friend does) it works trust me well some friends says it does he can stomp the gas any time now and go up 2 like 2000rpm max (he has a ford v6) ill try that some time later on
