Default The last straw

Well, when I bought my 08 new in August of 08, I couldnt have been happier, about two months later with the keys in the ignition, I closed the drivers door, opened the back door, grabbed my tools, and when I closed the back door, the bastard locked all the doors. BY ITSELF.
At 10K the traction control light came on and said the traction control was disabled. The dealer reflashed the tire size and it straightened up for a few weeks. When the transmission was replaced I got them to check that problem too, the steering wheel sensor was bad, so for $290 out of my pocket they fixed it.
A couple of weeks ago the traction control started acting up again.
Then last weekend, while at the camp while getting ready to go dove hunt, with my gun, phone and camo inside, the truck locked itself again. With the keys inside. Finally got it open and had a good hunt.

Long story short, I was too pissed at it, so it went bye bye today.
Went and got a 2010 Nissan Titan Pro-4x crew cab.

Day and night difference. I liked my Silverado a lot (except the issues) but this titan is way more truck stock for stock

you can turn off the auto locking feature in the d.i.c.

Auto lock isnt supposed to make it lock all by itself when the keys are in the ignition and the ignition in the OFF position. While at the camp, I usually leave the keys in the ignition so I dont loose them lol

It is possible I got taken for a ride, but I dont think, as the service writer is a friend of a friend. Supposedly the traction control system gets info from the stearing shaft. Not real sure, but that fixed it for a while, just started acting up again recently.

So what specifically makes the Titan a better truck stock for stock! Congrats on the new purchase! Can't see the pics but it's always good to have a new vehicle! Any plans?

So, the moral of the story is don't leave keys in ignition, or I'll be driving an import?

Wait till you blow up that puny rear in that truck. I know our trucks are not perfect but dollar for dollar they are the best out there and the most reliable......the parts are cheap and they are easy to work on. That is all....
