For what ever reason, you are the winner, the sock, was the culpret, I took it off, the pressure is fine.. It must have took a week to break or collapse, but seemed to be the problem..... I ran it in a bucket on the bench with and with out, it def pumped more with out it.... Now it is quiet like it was when I first installed it... So I am sockless for now, I know it isn't great but..
