i hate my truck, but i cant afford payments on another one. i hate that its rusting, i hate that its losing a gallon of coolant every other week, yet leaves no trace of a leak. i hate that my rebuilt 4l60e has been slipping into 3rd from pretty much day 1, 40k miles later... and i cant even stay in the gas on the 2-3 shift, i have to let off before it shifts...because it slips every time now. i hate that this piece of **** transmission cant handle the "power" of a 99 4.8. i hate the dead spots in the power band, where its either bog down or haul ***. or just plain bog down, and someone just about runs you over because your truck doesnt have enough *** to get out of its own way.

and why cant anyone build a decent transmission, i mean your local guys. my transmission sucks, my friends amco transmission only lasted 15k.ive read countless threads on here about local shops, or places like amco or cottmans putting out shitty transmissions.mine was supposed to have upgraded parts, just the sun shell, kevlar band, and some sort of shift kit. not built by any means, but i paid just as much as the better 4l60e`s and 65`s sold by the sponsors. i would have gone with one of their transmissions, but it wasnt an option at the time.

 

Sounds like you either have to poney up and buy a good transmission or learn how to build a good one on your own. That's what this hobby is about anyway. You can usually find a good used built trans on here. Put a different trans in there and take your old one back to Aamco and tell em you want your money back.

 

the 4.8 sucks horribly. I wanted to kill myself driving my truck with the 4.8. ******* thing couldn't go up a hill on the highway without losing 10 mph.

to be honest taking it to Aamco was your first mistake,they suck BIG TIME

 

I hate my truck, even with all the mods in my sig. So it doesn't ever get better.

well i dont know about you guys but i love my truck 5.3
i just got it tuned mods are efans, k&n, and some borlas and cat less and i love response and its runs preaty strong cant compliane about anything

6.0L is good get about 15mpg and can tow a 30foot holiday trailer at hiway speeds no problem and still getting 10 mpg
