How many of you had to have repairs done right after purchase? GM QA complaints?

I have a stack of warranty receipts at least 1" high from my 00' Silverado while it was still under warranty.

I had that thing in at least 25 different times for various stuff, but only 3 times for the same thing. The build quality on my truck was absolutley HORRIBLE.

It's only got 65,000 miles on it too, and the fuel sender gage, the fuel pressure regulator, and the steering shaft clunk didn't make themselves evident until *AFTER* my warranty was up.

Let's just say I haven't been very happy at all with my truck...

But what is really insane about it is, my dad has a GMC that is %99.9 identical to my truck, built at the same plant only 4 months later, and he's had his truck into the shop all of two times for stuff

Welp, lubed the intermediate shaft and had the other issues resolved by the dealer. He stated the tie rod boot was not leaking and it was just a blob of grease on the boot (I watched this grease shoot out when I lubed it so I know what happened), I reponded I disagreed but thanks. He said to bring it back if the popping was still there. Pulling out the parking lot at dealership and what do I hear? Same damn popping noise. So, I am going back when I have time off to do so and forcing them to replace the tie rod. I am also looking at the upper balljoints now as well. the popping is really light and I cannot feel it in the wheel but it is definitley coming from the driver side front suspension and only happens when turning the wheels to the left, whether backing up, pulling forward or driving. Nothing when turning to the right.

In terms of noise it sounds like a small rock hitting the bumper. Only one pop per left turn and then it will lightly pop again when straightening the wheels back out. I know its the tie rod or balljoints on that side. The catch will be making the dealership beleive it. Dont want the "well, we greased it and its not leaking" crap. I will be forced to get firm and flat out make them replace the balljoints no matter what they think.

My '02 Z71 Av had no issues, other than the above, in it's 42K miles with me.

My '00 S10 ZR2 was PLAGUED with issues later in it's life.

The new truck only has 7K on it... it's been great so far. *knock on wood*

AWESOME!!! thank you... i went out, put a little greese on it and no more rattle!!!

i should have done that anyways when i installed my headers - thanks again

Truck is back in shop. Looking at the balljoits yesterday, I look up and what do I see? Damn metering valve for the hydroboost was leaking like a sive all over the frame (thank god for that rubberized crap or paint would have peeled) so they have it for another two days to replace valve. They are still trying to find the source of the popping when turning. (c'mon guys, its either the intermediate shaft or the driver side upper balljoint, I keep tellin them but alas they have no clues about my workings in the car / performance world and see me as a know it all owner)

I swear it, I am gonna head back to purchase dealership and let them know I want a different truck if this **** keeps up.
