Depending on how you drive and maintain it (regular fluid changes, inspections, maintenance checks, etc.), there is no reason you shouldn't be able to get 150,000 to 200,000 miles out of your truck.
However, at minimum, I would do a shift kit and intermediate/overdrive servos to prolong tranny life.

how much does it run to install and buy a shift kit, whats involved i heard they make your shifts harder but i wouldnt want to go to hard, do they increase clutch pressure to stop slipage and will that make my clutches last longer thanx

Unfortunately, that's what everyone seems to be putting out as info - that shift kits make your shifts harder. They can make your shifts harder, but a shift kit's primary purpose is to make your shifts quicker, not harder.
After installing a few shift kits in my truck and a couple of other people's trucks, I believe that a truck really needs tuning in order to make the most efficient shifts without increasing the chance of damage to the transmission.
For example, my 1-2 shift was extremely hard after installing a Transgo shift kit, Corvette intermediate servo, and billet overdrive servo. However, all I needed to do is modify my 1-2 shift time from .200 seconds to .350 seconds to make it absolutely perfect.
Now it shifts firm and quick, but not hard and harsh. This seems to be others' experience as well - that you need tuning to take full advantage of a shift kit install, at least with a 4L60E. Where are you located?

I have a '00 Z-71 ECSB and a '02 ECSB, both have 5.3L, 4L60E, 3.73 G80s, and have over 135k miles on each with no major problems. The '00 has some of the typical minor problems that were common to those year models. Such as steering clunk and yoke clunk when put in reverse. The '02 has nothing wrong with it, no clunks at all, it also has a tranny cooler, which helped a lot.
