Default how long did your factory fuel pump last?

i'm doing a round of maintenance on my 2002 2500HD. new tires, new driveshaft carrier bearing, new K&N filter, gear oil, power steering fluid, washer fluid, wipers, window motor, new headlights/turn signals, blah blah...

the truck is still on the original fuel pump with 202,000 miles. the truck has had a hard cold start for a few years now that i attributed to the fuel pressure regulator...i changed the regulator 2 days ago and it still does it. it also has a new wix fuel filter. once the truck is running, it runs like a champ.

is a new fuel pump assy at 202,000 preventative maintenance, or should i leave it alone? i've never had a silverado over 75k up until now.

190k and was still working but the bleed off valve wasnt so it was dropping pressure as soon as you shut the key off which was annoying.

I have never had one make it to 100K on the stock pump. I've put pumps in every truck I have ever owned. My 07 just hit 140K and I figure it's due for its second one any time now

I would add a new set of O2 sensors to your list of goodies.

I would change the pump. I found a pin hole leak in the corrugated feed tubing causing the fuel pressure loss/ hard start issue on mine around 120K miles.

We actually had one go out on a road trip around 156K while towing.

Don't buy an aftermarket, they Suck!!! We got one at the parts store cause it was are only option on the road trip. Now at 1/4 of a tank it starts cutting out.
