Default Homelink console question

My truck has the short overhead console with storage compartment and map lights. I think I want to swap it to one with the Homelink transmitter.

Has anybody done this? They look like they are the same size, so I assume they can be interchanged. Does it just plug in, or do I need to change harness ends?

Hopefully somebody has done this and will chime in.

Thanks,
Roger

Looks like nobody has done this? Okay, well then, I think I'm gonna be the "guinea pig" here. I'm gonna keep my eyes open for a used gray(charcoal) overhead console w/homelink. So far I have only found an overpriced 'neutral' one. I want one without rear heater controls and sunroof switch. Seems a little bit less available.

Find one from a suburban/ take out the rear a/c controls then install the pocket from your original in it and plug it in. Did it on mine works great.
