Are there any aluminium block engines in trucks and if so why not, price/mass-production???
Will the Silverado SS get an LS2???
I know next to nothing about trucks so educate me, I am a sponge.

We may not see a LS2 in an SS, but the Gen IV engines will probably be based on the LS2 just like Gen III is based off the LS1.

Never quote dyno numbers unless you know that the dyno used is the same type. A Dyna Pack and Dyno Dynamics dyno spit out two totally different numbers. Then there is a conversion factor that varies between dyno operators.
Just put it on the track and see what MPH it gets over xx distance, then you'll be able to get a better idea of what it really has. There are a few good HP calculators on the web that are right on par with HP estimates.

I know there are always slight offs. The original 327 were considered 5.3 and the 350 is considered a 5.7 so I was just checking if it was exact, thanks for keeping me straight on my facts, man!!!

From my research and reading, the Dodge 5.7L (I dont like referring to them as Hemis, even though I own one, hehe) put down in the low to mid 260s on average, and around 300 rwtq. The 04 model year seems to have stabilized somewhat the fluctuation in output that was seen in the 03 model year (changed pcm). They average about a 23% drivetrain loss. Also, the 5.3L GM is 325ci, and is just referred to as 327, much like the 5.7L GM was actually a 346 but called 350.
