Default Heading to track need opinions..

Im going to be going to the track in 2 weeks and was wondering if I should run my 22s or my stock 17s? I would like to know what my truck runs on 17s and I wanted to know the big difference with the 22s... which should I run?

Welcome to PT. Post whatcha got. If u wanna see a better time, 17s. The 22s if u wanna see how much weight plays a factor in racing. I'm guessing 22s are what u run on a daily basis.

yea Im running 305/40r22s its like 31.7 inches tall. But I was kinda wondering if my CAI, hypertech, exhaust combo would still keep me in the mid 15s... Im probably going to have my 17s on though because Im going to be working on lowering the truck soon. Heres a pic of my 08 sierra

The 17s are for go; 22s are for show. I don't know if the new trucks r heavier or not. What motor, 5.3? Rear gear? Norcaltbss is real good w/ tire vs gear vs 1/4 mi info. I run a 5.3 w/3.42 Posi/ worn stock 16"s(30.5"), came from factory w/295 HP. I'm around that ET. So, I think you'll run that # easy. Plus, if your a 5.3, don't they come w/ 315hp or so out of the factory? U prolly got 3.23s unless ordered differently. Heat plays a role too. Where u from?

I got a 4.8 with 295 horse. I live in upstate NY and Im going to Lebanon valley march 12th. I got 3.43 rear gears Im guessing, the sticker shows 3.43 but I need to recheck. I just have an aftermarket si/do muffler that exits before the rear tire. Im dying to sell my hypertech for a custom tune.

This from a man pushin 5000# +, albeit @ 11.9s.
Maka, check glovebox. I memory serves, GU6 is 3.42. GT4 = 3.73. Either way, we started @ same HP level. You also have cool air, a plus. I think u will be fine.
