Default Head Gaskets

I performed a search and got mixed opinions on a head gasket thickness. I want to get a .048 compressed thickness and can't find any. Could someone help me on this or suggest were to buy these head gaskets??? Alos, use the sealant spray or not......????

Thanks,

James

Cometic makes good thinner gaskets. I wouldnt use the spray. Also with the Cometics, make sure the surface is CLEAN

FelPro has a .041 compressed. Part # is 1041. With the Cometics I would most certainly use the spray!! Those are some finnicky *** gaskets!

Actually copper kote works really well for sealing ehadgaskets better and many recommend it for the cometics since they have a history of being finicky to seal, and helps if the surfaces arent perfectly clean.

Hmm. The 1041's are a 4.135 bore. You might have to look to Cometic.

Yup, I just looked on the cometic site and I'm going to order the 3.910 bore, MLS/C.O.T.--.048. This is a custom made gasket. Oh well.......
