4.8 should have done better against a hemi
i raced a crew cab hemi in my 97 ext cab silverado 5.7 only mods are a hypertech programmer 160 t-stat a generation 2 K&N and the end of his hood was at my front fender from 30-75
i raced another one wit a 91 ext cab with a 305 it had edelbroke intake throtle body spacer granetelli mass air and flow masters we started at 25 and the hemi didnt pass me till we hit 45mph
