Why drop the 2" on the leaf hanger? Just curious if it was to level it out with the front after installing your drop kit?:

hey everyone,i went thru this thread and saw all of your trucks and they all look awesome! i wanted to do a 3/5 drop on my truck,i have a 00 silverado ext 5.3 2wd. iwas wondering if you guys could help me and point me in the right direction as to a kit or some kind of combination i should do. i dont plan on flipping the rear springs. preferably a kit that comes with shocks already would be nice.

Thanks,Michael

You won't get a 5in rear drop without doing a flip kit.

Shackles and hangers will only net you a 4in drop, 5in requires the flip kit.

And as someone with the same truck as you, you are going to want to c notch it as well. Even with a 2/4 drop I hit the bumpstops on the rear. There just isn't enough room for suspension travel. I used mcgaughys kit on mine which worked ok although the directions were ****. I really despise the reduced turning radius as well. I have thought a lot about trying different spindles because of this.

Did you have to do a C notch for the rear?

bolted on some hangers yesterday sitting at a 2/4 now. need to take the front down another inch... debating on waiting for a notch so i can remove my overload and do spindles at the same time putting me at a 4/5. pics are shitty and my driveway is super uneven.
