Default Gas pedal

Everytime I press on the accelerator it feels as if it is stuck and have to put more pressure for the truck to go. This sometime causes the truck to chirp the rear wheels and can be annoying specially for my gf. I have seen this happened on 3 other 01 GMC Sierras. Any ideas on how to fix this.

i have the exact same problem!!!
Im wondering if its that fact that the cable gets dry inside the housing or if the cable is frayed somewhere inside the line. I had this problem on a ''cough cough" dodge... (bowing head in shame..) that I owned previously. I cannot figure out what the deal is with this truck though. The cables look fine and the pedal just sticks from time to time. lately its been worse in the heat??? anyone else have this problem.. ???

Your throttle body needs cleaning. The blade is getting stuck ehrn it gets some buildup on the back side. GM was replacing them under warranty a couple of years back.

Same problem here, been meaning to post about it. I thought it was the throttle body, so i took the intake tube off and sprayed some throttle body cleaner in it, but that didn't help. My truck is a 2000 Sierra and has been doing it for a long time.

I had this about a year ago. Cleaning it really didnt help. I guess from all the times the blade snapped back let it go a little further back. To fix it just screw in the throttle position screw about half a turn to keep it from going that far closed. Just half a turn should fix it, and shouldnt affect idle. If thats not enough do it a full turn.
