gains/losses with different wheel and tire setups
#1
i swapped to 18" eagle alloy 219's with nitto 404's (285/50-18) and lost almost 2/10'ths in my 60' times
my last setup was chevy oem 17's with 275/60 17 proxies. before on the 17's i would cut 1.18-2.21 60' times consistantly on the stock converter. after the trailblazer stall that dropped to 2.02 consistantly...swaped to the eagles which is a lighter wheel and more meat for tires and my 60' times drop to 2.18. does that sound right???
if i coulda gotten my 60's right i coulda broke into 13's on street tires tonight with the stock 5.3. instead im questioning if my wheels were really worth it

Hard to say really. How are track conditions compared to when you would cut the lower 60 times?
Also the more meat means more resistance.Plus the larger rim even though smaller can cause it to take an effect on your rotation per ya know what i mean.Maybe thats your problem?

You probably have more mass at a greater distance from the axis of rotation.=More energy to accelerate.
New larger tires and new larger wheels could hurt your times, even if the wheel is lighter than stock.
The obvious fix is a new larger Radix

hey TX where you at HRP last night? I was out there, but couldn't really tell who all from this board was out there since there's so many dropped chevy trucks out there.
IMO I'd just get some light 16" cragars or something and some smaller tires.

wasn't that bad until later in the evening when it got real cold. I got there when it was still barely daylight and ran in the first few rounds. I only spun just a little the last run I made right when it got cold as *****.
