Default First time chevy truck owner

I bought my first chevy truck last may after a few weeks realize that I am loosing coolant and after much research I found out that I have the Castech Head issue. So I been trying to decide how I will fix this. I been looking for a cylinder head to replace it but I really don't know much about it. I have a 2004 chevy silverado with 5.3 and 706 casting on it. I don't want to give up on the truck it's my dream truck so I need to figure out what can I replace the head with beside Castech and don't want to spend a bundle. Any help will be great thank you

Believe it or not gm has a cooling system sealing tablet that is available that will work great. I'm not one to recommend this stuff ever but it is a gm product and does work my wife's tahoe with the same shitty heads had the same problem before we got married and I put 3 of the tablets in and it's been 3 years and hasn't lost a drop yet.

If not a head swap will be the only thing to fix it.

I was looking at my old heads last week, and noticed the Castech symbol on them. I never had any problems with coolant loss until I popped a head gasket at over 170K miles on the longblock & head gaskets, and I went 11's with them...

BTW, the heads are still good, and I'm thinking about putting it back together with new gaskets, just to have a backup engine.

GM sealing tablets Part#12378255 or ac delco #10-108 is what you need if you want to try it. I say do it like I said my wifes tahoe is still holding good after three years.
