Default Engine build question

How long or how many miles can i one expect to get from a engine build if he was only re-building the top of the motor - heads, cam intake etc.

How many long can i expect to get from a complete rebuild crank bearings , line hone etc.

The only benefit I would see from a top end build would be replacing the lifters with fresh ones. As long as it was a functional high mile engine.

A complete rebuild, guess it depends on if it is mild or wild and who tunes it. I don't see why a stock rebuild wouldn't be good for 200k miles.

kinda a non answerable questions, depends on lots of things,

maintenance, driving habits, ive seen 5.3s above 250k come into the dealership still sounding like day one, and we had a 08 silverado with 40k on it just grenaded.

i was looking into building the bottom into a stroker. With the way i drive which is all out i just want the best build i can do . Mind you i never built the bottom, but the top looks very do- able. Granted ive put sythetic in my 04 since day one so i feel the bottom should be fine

For the best possible results, do a full rebuild. If your bottom end is clean and has good compression, a top end would proably be just fine.

Just a top end parts swap is not a rebuild of any sort...
