Default E-Fan Temp Sensor

Recently, I upgraded from 5.3 to 6.0. Along with that I've swapped the '05 e-fans to Derale 4000 Cfm dual fans.

I would like to step away from using the sensor that's linked to the ECM for controlling the on/off of the e-fans, and use a secondary source. I have also chosen NOT to use any sensor that would make me push a hole through my radiator.

There is a bored hole, at the end of the passenger side headers, that has a very unfortunate size which is NOT applicable to ANYTHING that I could possibly use it for! Am I a little bent? YES!!!

Do you see that stupid plug, it's bore to a 12.175mm!?!?!

I can't find an adapter for the stupid thing...

Anyone a machinist?

I seem to recall that it was a fairly standard size, and that some people put their aftermarket temp sender units there. I have no idea the size though.

I changed the fans from the '05s to 4000cfm Derale Duals. I was using the Nelson harness and the fans started short cycling, which never happened with the 05's.

Both the harness and the fans were getting teerd and b/c I have a new set up, I went with new fans. I wanted to take a diff route and use another one of the engine bungs specifically for a temp sensor for the fans.

If you see that pic that I posted Corey...that damn tap is 12 x 1.75, WTF!! And the sensors thread is 3/8th British. I sure hope that I'm making sense.
