Default Does horsepower+weight=Time?

Does anybody know if there are graphs to support this question? Horsepower+weight= time. I know there are many other variables to consider, but I wonder if there is a correlation?

Are you asking about weight reduction in correlation to E.T.? For every 100 pounds removed from the vehicle it usually equates to 1/10th reduction in E.T. Hope this helps.

Yes, this web site has several different calculators to do the kind of math your asking about

Horsepower = 33,000 ft-lb f /min
= 550 ft·lb f /s
≈ 17696 lb m ·ft 2 /s
= 745.699872 W
You could change this formula to fit what you trying to figure out, but I am guessing you want e.t. times. I always though a chart plotting e.t. times on HP/ weight would be interesting, it wouldn't be linear though, so a pain to make. We need some calculus pros in here.

There's an iPhone app called Horsepower that does exactly what you're wanting to do.

Here's the formula you want to use: Horsepower = Gross Weight * (ET / 5.825)^3

Any formula is just an empirical fit to known times...to actually find it would be extremely hard since power output is non-linear, as is drag, and frictional losses, etc.

However, it is much easier to find trap speed based on weight and hp (or the other way around) since wheel spin doesnt really make much difference.

Theres alot of variables in your setup that can throw your time way off, like stock stall vs 4k stall, same power and a hole sec difference, however mph vs waight is always vary close when we have tryed it, wind drag will make the biggest difference but its still pretty close. I have setup many street races using this methed, if they tell me what they dynoed and there waight ill know how they will run up top with a few clicks on the wallace calculater.
