Default damn problems. Truck dinger mabob.

Whenever i pull my key out of the ignition, its supposed to unlock the door. It started not doing it today. It also dings like the key is in the ignition. WTF is going on? Has anybody ever had experience with this problem? Thanks for reading.

Your ignition cylinder (whatever they call it today) may need to be replaced.
Seems like it's not recognizing the key being out of the ignition.

That may also mean one or two new keys and the BCM module being reprogrammed to accept the new chips in the keys.
You might want to try and inject some WD-40 or silicone spray in the ignition before replacing it. Then work the key in and out (hmmm...whatever..... ).
Couldn't hurt.

I just freakin had the ignition switch replaced. Not the tumbler thingy though. Ill look into some powderd graphite. This licks.

There are no chips in these keys, and all he has to do to replace the cylinder is get his Key Code and take that to a REPUTABLE locksmith, and have them code the cylinder to that code, and burn him a new key!! Or have the dealership do it inhouse...thats what we do anyways..

Ther reason for the new is is because your other keys have work to hat cylinder. Might work in the new one, but two new items usually work a little better.

Holy ****, it fixed itself. I got pissed off at it and ran the key in and out, up and down and i pulled it out, it unlocked. I hope im not jinxing myself

I wouldn't doubt that the switch was incorrectly installed and this is causing your problem...
