coolant crossover pipe, 99 4.8

Default coolant crossover pipe, 99 4.8

i need to replace mine, cant seem to find one. called the dealer, and they tell me theres a revised pipe, and a new cover? is this correct, is he talking valley cover?

that wouldnt supprise me gm's good for that i go thru that all the time working for a dealer and its always great when the parts guys forget to tell you theres another 'updated' part that needs to go with it and you need to call the customer back and get more money and labor

Curious why do you need to replace yours? It's going to be tough finding one like your original one, as they started blocking off the rear two ports and using a single pipe across the front.

this one sprung a leak. i think i saw on summit where they have plugs for the back and the pipe for the front.maybe i can find one at the pick a part. any more info appreciated.

Is it leaking from the pipe or where it connects to the heads? Could be a gasket leaking if it's from where it connects.

from the pipe, not where it connects to the heads... the pipe is rusted from where the knock sensors clip to it. developed a crack in the pipe

is the ls6 coolant pipe kit a direct fit?

looks like it fits but needs to be bnt to clear the alternator. there isnt much there to bend. im gonna go by pick a part and see if i can find a decent one there.

I just cut the pipe right close to the blocks at the rear and right close to the Y up front, bend them shut and weld it for extra security. Cheap easy fix!

simple enough, except i dont have a welder.and dont know how to weld. guy down the road does, what kind of welds
