Default confused Gauge.

Few weeks ago (with a full tank of gas) my truck started sputtering when i'd give it 1/4 gas or more. Sputtering like it was on E. Got to a safe spot and shut it down for a bit. When I started it back up it ran fine. On my way home the gas gauge went from full to 3/4 for about 1/2 a mile and then back to full.

I've had a hunch for a while that the FPR might be going out but now i'm confused.

Last week I had gone 430miles and it said i was at 1/4 tank so I filled it up at my usual stop. Put 25 gallons in it.
Yesterday i took my brother to my grandpa's and my gauge said Full but i had driven 150 miles on the tank. i get to my grandpa's and sit there a while and it finally moves to 3/4 and then back down to 7/8ths full.

Any ideas wth is goin on? is it a possibility that my pump is warning me? If so it's the first one i've ever seen give a warning.

I rely heavily on that gauge not being 1/4 tank off. I'll keep filling it up based on the trip, but I don't want to break down on my way to work at 1am way 10-15 miles between city's.

My wifes trailblazer does the same thing. Its caused by sulfur building up on the sending unit from what i've read. Some people have had luck adding techron to a couple tanks of fuel.
