Default Instrument cluster problem.....warranty extension

I just got a letter from Chevrolet saying they are extending the warranty on our instrument clusters to 70K miles or 7 years from the date of purchase whichever comes first and that they will repair faulty instrument clusters that "needles may stick, flutter, or become inoperative, which may include the speedometer and the fuel gauge." I don't know if any body else has received this letter, but I know I'm going to take advantage of it. My fuel and oil pressure gauges quit working correctly several months ago. I'm glad to see GM is taking responsability for these bad clusters...finally. The number for more info on this issue is 1-800-630-2438 .

Yeah, that's all that is wrong with these clusters is the stepper motors are crap! If you know how to work with circuits and soldering you can fix these problems yourself...
