i was just razzing Dan & adding *another* thing to his laundry list of mods. it ain't directly related to the clear headlight discussion, however, it's another one of those "while you're in there" options.

you basically go to your junk yard & grab the brown turn signal sockets (with 6-9 inches of wire) off a truck. grab six add-a-tap wiring connectors (to fit the 18ga wires), and simply tap the new socket wires into the matching colors of your current turn signals. you could alternatively strip a little of the original wires & solder/heat shrink the new ones in for a cleaner, more secure job. (add-a-taps worked for 10+ yrs with no issues on mine).

remove your daytime running lamp bulbs, e-tape over the sockets to resist corrosion, then tuck them out of the way (or simply cut them off if you know you never want to go back). the brown blinker sockets will fit into the DRL housings without trimming - you just have to clock it off to match the bigger tab & then wiggle it in sideways. then it will click into place. voila! now your whole bottom housing is a parking light & flasher. if you're really worried about having lights on during the daytime, then turn your lights on. that simple.

takes you from this:
