I agree 100%.

A friend of mine with a z06 had to put cats on after he failed visual inspection. He went and got Magnaflow high-flow cats, had them put in and it didn't cost him anything on the dyno or the track. He ran 11.8's before cats and 11.8's after cats.

Run the cats.

I knew I shouldnt have put a number on it. They made a big difference on my setup. I dont care what Bobs uncles sisters friends car did, mine slowed down.

And I agree, its a heavy *** truck that will never really be fast, so why make it stink too.

Maybe your buddys car didnt have a restrictive exhaust, and he never benifited from the removal of the cats in the first place. Just because a certain modification doesnt improve his setup, doesnt mean it wont improve ANY setup.

Properly functioning cats wont hinder flow, at least they shouldnt, bends and routing of pipes is a different story....

When I had my last truck tuned my tuner said he adjusted something so my truck wouldn't stink like gas after my headers and ory.

Sadly the nox emissions the epa is worried about is a by product of the chemical process/reaction within the cat.... A properly tuned engine without cats will actually have less greenhouse gases emitted from the exhaust than any vehicle with cats....
