2001 ecm gen 3 ls swap 89 swb gauge swap
So my harness guy left me wires on my ecm to control gauges, I was planning on using the extra head port for temp, and tapping the adapter above oil filter for oil pressure to make my stock gauges work.
As I was thinking about this I realized it may be alot less work now with the new pcm to do a gauge swap. So my question is can I grab a new cluster out of like a 98 and it be basically plug and play or is this not possible?
If that's not possible is there any gauges that will swap right in using the pcm to control them other than individual aftermarket gauges?
Thank you for your time, tried to search couldn't get the search function to open probably an issue with my phone.

in my 93 all the gauges work, I kept only enough of the 93 harness to use the senders. I think it would be more work to make a 98 cluster fit plus making them work.. you could get a racepak it would plug right into the obd2 port or you can wire it to your gauges

It's definitely less work to use the 93 gauges my 94 has the original gauges. I used the pressure send from the 350 and bought an adapter to thread it into the oil pressure port on the ls. It's in about the same location on both. I used the extra head port for the engine temp gauge. I turned down the stock sender to fit into the 12mm port on the ls head.
