Default Can I add Factory remote start to my 07 GMC?

OK I did a search and did not find anything to exactly answer my question so here it goes.

I just bought a 2007 GMC Sierra. On the vehicle detail report that the salesman gave me prior to buying the truck one of the line items says "Remote Start Accomodations Package" and has a code #AP8. The Keyless remotes do not have the start button on them though. Does this mean I can buy the Key FOB with the start button and do the FOB reprogram and have the remote start work??? Incedently I am also having the OEM Security System installed shortly also. Will this come with new remotes???

Thanks for any input!

Sweetness! Now In the owners manual it says you can reprogram the truck for new key FOB's with the DIC on the dash. Will this work if I buy a key FOB with the start button?

Oh and here's another one... Can I add the steering wheel volume controls also??? I have the cruise control but thats it. If so whats involved? I do not mind digging in to the dash to do it.

Thanks

Love the avatar by the way!

Actually i already ordered the parts for DIC, and remote start to be installed on my truck, for the remote start you need to have the bcm programmed from what i was tolled. I also wanted to mount the steering wheel controls to the radio, and found out that a lot of parts needs to be changed. It just wasnt worth it. Parts involved for the remote audio controls BCM, have to take apart the steering consel replace harnes, and other things i forgot, But i was a pain in the *** to do.

I recently purchased an '08 RCSB Chevy Truck "LS" model and it didn't come with Keyless Entry or remote start but does have PW, PL, and PM. I am wondering if you can buy the key fobs and what else would you have to buy to convert it or is it even worth it to try to do this or would it be easier to just go buy an aftermarket alarm with keyless entry and remote start?

its kind a wierd that you didnt get a remote if you have pw pl pm i thought you would have all you have to do is buy the remotes and get it reprogrammed when you get it reprogrammed the step is call techline and get a vci # reprogram the bcm and the tdm its a long process

well i think the reason i didn't get the remote is because it is the LS line and not an LT. Anyways it does have the PW, PL, and PM. I would assume I would have to get some sort of module or sensor thing to add on to control the locks to work with the key fob. Does anyone know exactly what I would have to get?
