Default bunch of motor racket

Just installed a 350 in my truck (59 GMC). vortec style heads and intake. edelbrock carb. Start up the truck runs, idles, and revs fine. Put it in drive and give it hard throttle or put it under a load, it sounds like a bunch of raddleing or a deisal truck going down the road. Any idea what it might be?

Sounds like detination. Try adding a little fuel and pulling a little timing. Your timing at idle may be good, but your advance may be too agressive. What compression are you running?

well i had this motor in a s10 before and ran perfectly. I put new intake and carb on it and it does this. My dad think it could be coming from the transmission/transfercase. Im not sure Im so lost on it.

A new carb and intake means you pulled the distributer out and the new carbs air fuel may not be set right yet.
